Installation Specifications for Cooling Tower and Piping System
The cooling tower must be installed in a clean and well-ventilated location.
For multiple-tower arrangements, maintain a spacing of 1-2 times the tower diameter between adjacent towers.
Verify that the support frame dimensions match the foundation layout. Level and align the support frame on the foundation, then securely fasten anchor bolts. If necessary, install and weld embedded foundation components.
Assemble the tower sections in numbered sequence and tighten all bolts securely.
The fan blade rotation plane must be perpendicular to the shaft centerline. Do not strike the tower body directly with metal tools during installation.
Material Requirements
Pipes and fittings must comply with current national or industry standards and provide valid quality certifications.
Verify specifications against design requirements before installation.
Pre-Installation Preparation
Remove rust and debris from pipes/fittings. Temporarily seal open ends during interrupted work.
Penetration Installation
Coordinate with civil construction to pre-reserve wall/floor penetrations.
Prohibited: Welds, joints, valves, or flanges must not be embedded within walls/floors.
Waterproofing Measures
Apply waterproofing where pipes pass through pools, roofs, or underground structures.
Strict waterproofing zones: Use flexible waterproof sleeves.
General areas: Rigid steel sleeves are acceptable.
Exposed Pipe Alignment
Parallel or stacked pipes must maintain consistent spacing in straight sections.
Bends should match the straight-section spacing.
Flanged Connections
Flange faces must be perpendicular to pipe centerlines and parallel to each other.
Prohibited: Do not force-align pipes by tightening flange bolts unevenly.
Gasket Selection & Installation
Hot drain pipes: Use asbestos gaskets.
Water supply/drainage pipes: Use rubber gaskets.
Gaskets must not protrude into the pipe bore; outer edges should align with bolt holes.
Best Practice: Use tabbed gaskets for easy adjustment.
Bolts should not extend excessively; nuts must face the same direction.
